My excuse? Baby teeth fall out. Second, though my son wasn't allowed to so much as turn his head toward the TV until he was one I've more than made up for that perfect first year by allowing repeated viewings of Star Wars (all of them), Harry Potter (yep, all of those too--waiting for the DVD of the last one so we can fast forward through the more disturbing parts--I'm not a monster!) and the Wonder Pets. Every time we turn around some expert has an opinion on what hurts babies and toddlers. I was watching Good Morning America this morning and they said a current study by the University of Washington shows that educational shows are good but violent shows are bad for toddlers, where previous studies viewed all TV as a single entity. Well DUH, they could have just asked all of us mothers and saved a lot of time.Autumnhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08510723750496873429noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3817728686717244104.post-39674405750777670452007-11-06T09:06:00.000-08:002007-11-06T09:06:00.000-08:00OK, I am a bad Mom...My 2 1/2 year old is sitting ...OK, I am a bad Mom...My 2 1/2 year old is sitting next to me watching Sesame Street, while I blog, having never gone to the dentist...Don't judge;)Cynthiahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00625673916138703709noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3817728686717244104.post-18572005575973509302007-11-06T08:24:00.000-08:002007-11-06T08:24:00.000-08:00Our dentist wouldn't see them before they were thr...Our dentist wouldn't see them before they were three either - I specifically asked and they didn't want to see them any earlier. Then again, I have yet to find a dentist that I like since we moved here 4 years ago. There are no pediatric dentists who take our insurance in town either.

I agree with you about the television - my feeling is that like many other things, it's ok in moderation. And I found too that with a 2nd or 3rd (etc.) child, it's so much harder to keep them away from the tv since it's on for older siblings anyway. Becca watches more tv than my older two did at this age...Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03806252705199445407noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3817728686717244104.post-68142203118645014452007-11-06T08:06:00.000-08:002007-11-06T08:06:00.000-08:00Our dentist won't see them until their 3. And I am thankful every day that Xander finally shows interest in the tv. Sometimes he just needs a little quiet time so that mommy can get things done. For the longest time he wouldn't look at the tv at all.
