Photostory Friday~ Stuck On You

Hosted by Cecily and MamaGeek

The other day, as I sat engrossed in something I am entirely not able to recall at this moment (dang that mommy brain), Sugar Bear sidled up to me, stood silently by my side until I finally looked down at her. The face looking up at me was one of pure joy. The sort of joy you really only see in the face of a child. Her smile lit up her angelic face, and despite the numerous stickers she so lovinly placed on her delicate features, I saw the most beautiful person in the world.

There are days when I just wish I could wrap this child up in my arms and stop time. The simple act of silliness pulled me from my task, and enveloped me in the love of being a mom. I felt so blessed to be a part of such an amazing journey. As she danced around the room singing, "look at me........look at me.....LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOK at my stickers!" I couldn't help but giggle, and feel grateful for my life.

After several minutes I asked her if I could take a picture of her stickers. She happily obliged. As she stood proudly, showing her work of art, I snapped one of the truest smiles I have ever captured. It was a gift to me.

Nearly 10 minutes later she presented me with further gifts.....ones only a parent can love.

Have a great weekend.

Oh Corey, I get this. I get every word of this. Some days I wish there were a PAUSE button because it just all goes by in the form of a blink.

Excellent post my friend!!

I don't know what the heck is wrong with me. I teared up when I read "I snapped one of the truest smiles I have ever captured" While looking at her sweet face and smile, I think I have a new favorite Sugar picture.
So sweet Corey, what a blessing that you have her. Hugs!

At any rate, it's great to see Sugar's smiling face again. And oh, what a smile! She is such a sweetie. that desire to wrap her up and freeze time...I know it well.

And I love it that she gifted you with the stickers - sounds just like my N!

I totally understand. I have a briefcase that has nothing work-related in it, but is full of treasures from my children, collected over the years.

We're back in Melbourne after a WONDERFUL time in Malaysia.

What is it with kids and stickers? I didn't even get it when I was a kid.

VERY adorable. One time my children found a box of band-aids & a box of pantyliners. They stuck them all over themselves & paraded around the house. Very silly. But the really funny part was they stuck them all over one of hte windows in the guest room. I did not find it for a few days. So, for days people drove by my house & wondered why there were pantyliners in hte window!! :)

What a cutie pie! Was she able to put some of those stickers back in her sticker book, or were they tossed at the end of the day?

Sugar and The Bean just mirror each other in so many ways. We have had lots of fun with stickers this week. Sticking them on faces and clothes and the washing machine. Sharing them with Mommy and sticking them on her face too. Such sweeties we have.

Hey, I'll take stickers over makeup any day. :)

I loved the picture of Sugar with the 'stickered' face as soon as I saw it in your header! And I'm so way behind and just now catching up, so I get to this post last... What a precious little Sugar Bear you have. :)
