In late November, I started my annual quest to capture the ultimate Christmas Card photo....or photos. It seems that I often take too many photos, and make too many different proto types, then end up struggling to choose. When will I ever learn?
Just like every other year, I had previously finished a special outfit for the photo as well. I think I say this every year, but oh man do I love the outfit I made. I had a vision, and it turned out pretty much as I imagined. I especially love the ribbon straps. Just looking at her in this outfit makes me feel like it is snowing candycanes and mistletoe.
Not only would I like to share my photo of choice in this post, I'd like to show you the variety of shots I got that day. Despite popular belief, Sugar Bear isn't a flawless subject. In this particular photo session, I took about 55 photos.
To THIS in a split second, so I better be ready.
For every THIS....
I get some of THESE....
But in all honesty....it's the unintended shots that usually say the most about my child. The shots that show her emotions...personality....and stage of development. It is those shots that will spark the flood of memories I hope to experience when I am 70 years old, and glancing through my photo albums striving to remember yesteryear.
In the end, I designed THIS...
But....I wasn't satisfied. I had a few more ideas up my sleeve to try another day. Yes....I do think it might be an illness. I just can't leave well enough alone. I'll be sharing some of those soon.

The end card you decided on turned out fantastic.

Hey.. that's not what I got in the mail! I need all of them next year.. ok? LOL I had four different finalist for my cards and still didn't get exactly what I wanted... sigh. I finally gave in and just sent out what I had.
I love your photographs. I came here from Mishsi's because I saw your comment about how you get so few comments. Well, here's an extra one I had layin' around. Sorry. Feeble attempt at humor.
I will say that you are an excellent photographer - and that your subject is an adorable little girl. You're very lucky. So, I think, is she.

Oh, Corey... I'm the same way... it just may be an illness. But, I will say, that your card and those photos turned out to be precious!!!!!
