It is my wish for you to know what my Wordless Wednesday, Loved and Lost, photos meant to me. They were the main reason we were there...in that light.....on that road....with that doll. It isn't all too often that I have an idea in my head that comes to fruition. These were such a beast. I had an idea of a little girl with her dolly tagging along. I wanted to capture some quiet moments of the two of them walking along the road together, as I've seen so many children do. I then wanted to capture a photo of the doll left behind. I even had the lighting, and post processing figured out for these shots.
This concept has been rattling around in my head for quite a long time, but I kept waiting for the right outfit, and the right type of doll. Much time past, and I nearly forgot about it, until Sugar suggested taking her doll on one of our nightly walks.
Once out there, I snapped away and caught many fun moments, and somehow, the quiet ones emerged as well. It was fun to watch. She'd go from quiet walking to skipping joyfully, then back to walking. I just snapped away. I even took some time to snap some flowers, and then caught her and dolly playing Ring Around the Rosy. It wasn't until I we were nearly home when I remembered my original idea. I had to ask Miss Sugar to put her dolly in the road. She was so concerned about her laying in the rocks. It was so cute. I hurriedly snapped a few shots, and let her rescue baby doll from the hard rocks.
While editing the photos, I found such pleasure in seeing this project come together, as if it were meant to be. It happened, even though the outfit wasn't perfect, and the dolly wasn't the one I imagined. It still happened, and I have the photos to show for it. I almost didn't share them, as I still want to try again in different circumstances. In the end, I decided they were just too cute not to share. I really hope you all enjoyed them.
Life is GOOD!
16 Live It or Love It:
You make such a connection between the subject and the photo which makes your photography so beautiful. Much better than the "just snapping away" that most of us do. The pleasure you get out of the whole experience adds to it all.

LOVING this series of photos...Sugar Bear is SO big!
Perfect outfit, perfect doll, perfect kid. I love these. I always have ideas but often not the gumption to follow through. I'm hoping for more of that.
I can't decide if I like the b&w better or the color ones. I guess I don't have to choose though!
My BIL is loaning me his old, super-fancy camera so your blog is even more fun to read than usual!
