When I first saw this week's theme, I started thinking up a fun way to take some cool macro shots of different kinds of CANDY, but suddenly I remembered a series of photographs I took directly after Christmas that hadn't been edited yet. This seemed like a good excuse finally get around to editing them, and to actually share them.
A friend of ours received this gigantic candy cane as a present. They couldn't see the use in it, so Hubby brought it home for Sugar Bear. She packed it around for quite sometime before I broke down and let her have a try.
First we needed some photos with it. Of course....you wouldn't think a moment like this would go undocumented now would you?
Then we took a hammer to it, and broke off a few chunks. Sugar Bear nibbled on it a bit, but truth be told.....she isn't a fan of CANDY cane.
In the end, Tiny the horse got some nibbles, then the rest when in the trash. The idea of it was much more exciting than the reality.
Thank you for stopping by my Blog this week. I really appreciate it. I look forward to viewing some really wonderful treats. Have a great weekend!
40 Live It or Love It:
Oh I really loved that! :) What fun you had with it! Have a great weekend. ;)
That is great. I love the shots you got of your daughter with the humongeous candy cane. I can see how the idea of it is better than actually trying to eat it. It certainly would take a big hammer, ha.
WOW! amazing photography you have here! Love all the photos specially your adorable daughter;)
That hammer shot is way cool! Cute kid too!
Fits very well with the theme! and your photography skills are awesome!

Oh wow! What a giantic piece of candy! That would be fun as a gift! :)
She is so cute. I don't think mine would know what to do with a candy cane that big!
Now that is a stick of candy
That's real CANDY!!! That could have probably fed the entire nursery school :P
That sure is a huge candy cane. Your lovely daughter looks intrigued. Have a great weekend Corey.
That's a great series of shots. Reminds me when my daughter won a giant chocolate Easter rabbit. You get sick of chocolate after a while, believe it or not! lol
Come and see my different approach to the theme this week. Have a great weekend. :D
Wow, that is a huge candy cane. It sure makes a good prop for photo-taking. :)
Whoa this is really a big one!
The look of that candy cane alone makes my teeth hurt. Have a wonderful weekend.
Great photos! And yes, you are so right, the idea is most often much more exciting and enticing that the reality! Especially with kids.
Hee hee it's nearly as big as Sugarbear. Perfect.
Awesome shots and an awesome peppermint stick! Whenever we had extra peppermint candy I drop a small chunk in my hot coffee. That one would last a very long time ;-)
Oh my gosh, those are the cutest pictures.
Oh my gosh, those are the cutest pictures.
Wow, that's dreamy. Do you still have it? Chunks of peppermint are divine in chocolate chip oatmeal cookies.
That was HUGE! I've never seen a cane of that size before. It must have been fun breaking it down. :-)
sugar bear looks sweet! that photo with the hammer is hilarious. :-D
Good grief, I've never seen such a huge piece of candy before!!
Wow that is a monster piece of candy. Even I couldn't eat that in one sitting! Have a great weekend

Wow that is huge - what fun!
Now those are great shots for the candy theme! I'm glad you remembered them. happy weekend...
Great take on this week theme. I bet it took your daughter a while to eat it.
My photo is up.
So cute! Your daughter is so adorable! And that candy cane is huge... I want one too!!!!
Wow, that certainly is the biggest candy cane I have ever seen. It would probably last months or even a year if you were serious about eating it. Great shots!! AND great choice for this week's theme.
Did you notice that the chocolate was on the very bottom? My own way of trying to forget the chocolate is there..cover it up with hard candy. lol.
I don't think Sugar Bear needs any help being sweet.
does she speak softly when she carries such a big stick?
sorry. it's bedtime.
That is just completely and totally insane. Who would actually eat that thing? Big foot?
Hilarious. Great photos too. And here's something spooky, just before clicking through to your blog, I went and grabbed myself a huge handful of candy to nibble while I was reading. Coincidence? I think not!
btw - thanks for your wonderful compliments about my photos. It means a lot coming from you!! And thanks for voting too. And LOL on your comment about sqeezing our kids so tight their heads might pop off. I think Csilla worries about that on a daily basis!
Hope you're having a wonderful weekend.
whoa! that is a huge piece of candy! were you able to finish all of it off?
Wow, that's a big candy cane. I love the photos. Precious and worth remembering.
