I ♥ Tooshies!
I knew right away which photo I'd use. Mainly because I don't have that many photos of tooshies. But...the one I do have....I rather like....a lot.

Hope you have a PURRRRfect Thanksgiving!
Sincere wishes for a happy and healthy Thanksgiving to YOU and YOURS! We are delighted to be spending some quality time with family over this holiday weekend, and taking the time to relax, and enjoy all the many things we have to be so very THANKFUL for.
If you've been following along, Kitty has been exploring reasons to be thankful this month. What a wonderful experience it has been. While I rarely have trouble coming up with something to be thankful for, I do find it a challenge to portray it in a kitty image. This month, I have felt great growth in my project.
Here is another weeks worth of photos, and what a wonderful time to share. My heart is so very full of THANKSGIVING!
Day 76
(Somewhere along my lifespan, I contracted the virus that causes cold sores. If you have had the pleasure of a cold sore outbreak, you will greatly understand how very THANKFUL I am to have found a product that has kept me cold sore free.)
Day 77
(I never lose sight of how very grateful I need to be for these little feet. They carry my Sugar's happy and healthy little soul. She walks...she runs...she skips. Her body is not failing her, and for that I am utterly THANKFUL!)
Day 78
(Safe drinking water is something we often take for granted, but should be entirely, hands clasped THANKFUL!)
Day 79
(Seriously.....this photo says it all. That day, I suffered from food poisoning, and not only was I grateful for indoor plumbing, I was THANKING my lucky stars for adequate supplies of toilet paper!)
Day 80
Day 81
(Not nearly enough can be said for safety. I am exceedingly THANKFUL for the knowledge, the intuition, and the tools that keep me safe from harm.)
Day 82
(Okay, so I know I'm not alone here is saying that I am always THANKFUL for a good nights sleep full of sweet, sweet dreams!)
May your Thanksgiving bring many moments of JOY, LOVE, AND GRATITUDE.
HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

I'm.......
-I'm wishing...
my weekend wasn't over, and I was still in the "big city" with my friends shopping, laughing, eating, and watching the So You Think You Can Dance tour show. It was such a wonderful weekend. I am blessed beyond measure.
-I'm loving...
all the art that is just pouring out of Sugar Bear these days. She is going through a wonderful phase full of colorful creativity.
-I'm wondering....
if there is any way possible that I will get done everything I WANT to get done before Christmas. Seriously.....what am I doing here blogging when I have soooooooo much sewing to do?
-I'm listening....
to the sound of The Hubby snoring on the couch. This has become our habit. I sit with him until he falls asleep in front of the TV, then I steal a few hours at the computer.

-I'm smelling....
my new Febreeze NOTICEables in Autumn Spice and Harvest Festivities scents. LOVE IT! Much better to come home to, than the smell of large dog.

-I'm working....
myself into a frenzy trying to decide if I NEED a new camera or not. I seriously have spending issues, and not the kind most folks have. The mere thought of spending large sums of money makes my stomach hurt, and my bowels quake.
-I'm looking...
forward to Thanksgiving dinner. I am soooooo ready for some fabulous food.....and PIE. yeah.....PIE.
-I'm making....
our Christmas card this week. So many decisions, and choices. I'm hoping to keep it simple this year, but already I've made at least 8 different versions, and I'm still not sure I've got a winner.
-I'm trying.....
to keep a positive attitude throughout this busy and stressful time of year. Good Golly the next 4-5 weeks are going to be NUTS around here.
-I'm retiring....
for the night! :)

Another week of Thanks!
Day 69
(So very THANKFUL to have a pet that is patient and kind.)
Day 70
(I know being THANKFUL for boundaries sounds weird, but honestly, knowing one's limits is such a blessing.)
Day 71
(Having the monetary means to cover one's basic needs and then some is something to be VERY THANKFUL for!)
Day 72
(I'm so very THANKFUL for lots and lots of firewood in which to heat our cozy little home.)
Day 73
(This little beacon of light that illuminates the path from Sugar's room to mine is something I'm always to THANKFUL for. It provides such a sense of security in the eyes of my little one.)
Day 74
(Can't be THANKFUL enough for this little photography hobby of mine. It gives me so much joy and satisfaction.)
Day 75
(Beyond THANKFUL for the ability to create unique gifts for all the important people in my life.)

Tell Me Thursday~ Somehow we didn't freeze
“May your joys be as deep as the ocean, your sorrows as light as its foam.” ~Unknown
This week's Wordless Wednesday photos were such a treat to capture. It was a blustery sort of Sunday, and I dialed up a friend whom we hadn't seen in.....ummmm...months and months, and asked if we could come by for a visit.
This fabulous friend lives in a small town right near the ocean. She mentioned that the pelicans were migrating, and had decided to stop in their little town in numbers she had never seen in the few decades she had lived there. Knowing my love of photography, and Sugar's fascination with anything nature related, she wondered if we'd be interested in going on down to the jetty to take a little peek.
Our first attempt that day wasn't too successful. It rained, and the wind was biting cold. Sugar and our friend remained in the truck while I tried to snap a few shots of the flying pelicans. Some of the shots in my Wordless Wednesday post were taken at that time. Including a fun shot I snapped when my two truck bound observers decided to brave the weather during a brief let up of rain. Even though the sky was only letting loose of a few raindrops her and there, it was incredibly cold....and so very windy.
Soon we gave up, about 3 hours later, as the Sugar and I prepared to head home, I noticed that the sky was bright, and the rains had stopped. I decided to have another try at some pelican shots, and I'm soooooooooooooooooo glad I did. THIS time, Sugar got a chance to relax and enjoy the sights. She is such an adventurer.
There was so much to see.......and to point out.
The sights were AMAZING.
The ocean was unruly. I could have watched the waves crashing into the jetties forever.
The rough waters brought in lots of jiggly foam and driftwood. I wish I could have somehow captured how this two feet high piles of foam would slowly jiggle in the wind.
Instead, you'll have to be satisfied with more photos of Sugar Bear. I adore the jewel toned colors of her clothes against the grey skies of the blustery day.
The moments spent in nature, surrounded by the power of the mighty ocean, even had a bit of an affect on Sugar Bear. She was feeling GREAT! She did a little dance.....
And basically, spread her JOY.
Life is good!

To my Delight
My impromptu post on Friday ended up bringing me so much joy. It was such a treat to see all the guesses. It had me smiling, and giggling....and just plain joyful. Thank you for that.
Sue was the first here on my blog to figure out what I was referring to in that photo.
Last August, I became aware of the fact that Sugar Bear's thumb on her left hand is what they call "double jointed". This basically means that she has extreme flexibility in the joint. The socket is shallow and her thumb easily pops in and out. It isn't all that common, and no one in the immediate family has double joints. I do believe it is only that one joint for her as well. While she found some fascination with it when we first discovered it, she is starting to show some reluctance to being different. I say "It's Special!", but we all know that sometimes in our hearts, special just means different. It doesn't help that a few of her friends said, "ewwwwww...." when she showed them. Sigh......I'm just holding out for the day when they are of the age to think, "That's Cool!", instead.
Anyhow, I'll be contacting Sue about her little surprise. Congrats!
Several folks mentioned wondering if Sugar Bear is a lefty...or ambidextrous. She is most definitely NOT. She is right handed all the way. While she can write her name well, she isn't all that interested in holding her pencil correctly, and often tries all sorts of different grips. She also isn't all that prone to want to draw. I love it when she does, but it is really rare.
Last week at preschool, they were working on words that start with the letter H. Her teacher made each child a small book with blank pages, and some "H" words. Then each child has the opportunity to illustrate their book.
As per usual, when I arrived to pick her up, she was delighted to share with me her work for the day. As I slowly started flipping through her book, she eagerly chattered away about her drawings.
"Here is a HAT. I have never drawn a HAT before! do you like it?"
"This is HOPPING! It is really hard to draw that one!"
"Oh, and here is my HORSE!"
Okay people.....mama had to pick her jaw up off the floor and have another look. Did my baby girl just draw her first horse????? and did she do an AWESOME job or what? I'm not ashamed to say that I keep looking at it over and over again. I just can't get enough of this little drawing.
Here...look again!
Pretty darn good, huh? Yeah.....she is BRILLIANT!
