There have been several posts recently featuring our day at the Japanese Gardens. It was a wonderful day back in November. NO rain....decent temps, and a fun girl. :) I was VERY excited to get some shots of her in the dress I made, and I had a pretty good idea of what I wanted to capture. If I'm truly honest, I'll let you know that I didn't get the shots I wanted, BUT I distanced myself from my preconceived notions, and learned to really love the shots I got.
Sugar Bear LOVED having her little bear along for the day. It was so fun to show him all the sights.
Sadly, shortly after I snapped these shots, Mr. Bear took the plunge and fell into the little creek below the bridge. I wasn't watching when it happened, and Sugar Bear's shriek made me jump out of my skin. You'd think she herself had fallen into the water with the despair she let loose. Luckily, Mama came to the rescue, and soon a perfectly fine, yet rather WET Mr. Bear was back in Sugar's arms.
I had to wring him dry, and press him against a dry bench, to get most of the water out of him before handing him back to Sugar. Nearly ALL the shots I ended up using for my Christmas card were taken AFTER the little swim.
Soon, I'll share my final card....or should we say, "Cards?" I can never choose just one.
8 Live It or Love It:
Lovely, lovely shots! Sugar Bear's hair is getting so long, it's really pretty. What a clever mum for making such a stunning dress! Been very busy here too rolling out a new system. Hope to be back to normal fairly soon!
Oh my word the idea of her losing her bear must have been terrible for her, hence the shriek you heard..can you imagine what went on in her little mind at that moment.
Good mommy who came to the rescue...
Love the photo's as always.
I love those shots of SB from the rear, with her bear in her arms. So glad he didn't fall!
Love love love your photos! Such a sweet story to go along with them too!
Thanks for participating over at TMT again this week. Your little girl is so adorable - these pictures are precious!

Thank goodness you were able to rescue the bear!!!
The dress is beautiful!
so what if you didn't capture exactly what you had in mind - what you did get is terrific! Poor Sugar losing her bear - I'm glad he could be recovered!
