We had a GREAT 4th of July! It is a bit of a tradition for me to make something special for my Sugar Bear to wear to the 4th of July picnic. This year.....I was so pleased with the outcome.
Back in May, I ran across a fun Tutorial that turns a t-shirt into a fabulous pleated dress. I wanted to try it out....like NOW, so I did. We've been DYING for the 4th of July to get here so she could wear it.
I love re-using Sugar's clothing. This shirt had some stains on the belly, and the front said, "old navy". I just added some stars, and TA-DA....who would know?
Sugar Bear loves this dress. It twirls FABULOUSLY, and she gets to tell everyone that "My mama made it!"
I'm not sure who gets a bigger kick out of it.....her or me. We both enjoy her one of a kind outfits. It makes her feel special, and it gives me a creative outlet.
I'm so grateful for all the really amazingly talented folks there are out there that provide all sorts of inspiration and free tutorials. I have about 348 tutorials bookmarked. tee hee....now I just need more time.
♥But it is alllllllllll so very worth it. Look at this Forth of July Angel!!!♥
and such a wonderful model for my creations.

Well done!!
Everytime I see one of your new outfits for Sugar I feel just awful...Olivia would be just like Sugar in her reaction, but I just never get around to it. I've only got a couple more years that she is going to wear homemade clothes so I'd better get a move on.
So cute! You are so very talented. I love that miss Sugar is so proud that her momma made her dress. It's sooo sweet when our kiddos are as proud of us as we are of them. :) Glad you had a happy fun filled 4th!
I just followed your link from your comment over on my blog. I just had to quickly say that your 4th of July version of this dress turned out darling!! Loved every bit of it! Especially your happy little girl wearing it! :)

You and Sugar and that dress are all just too awesome, Corey! I can't say how much I adore this. Sweetest little patriot I've seen. And the pictures! You never let us down.
Love it! That turned out adorable! and of course it doesn't hurt to have Sugar Bear as your model!
