You might remember last Spring, Sugar Bear and I had a wish. We were so very thrilled when it all worked out, and Sugar was set to start at a new school this fall. We have anxiously awaited the beginning of this new journey, and last week....it was here. :) Monday night, we attended "meet the teacher" night, and it was so wonderful. It was just what Sugar needed to feel comfortable, and ready to go. We met her teacher, and she got to see the classroom, and pick a table to sit at on her first week of school.
She was very excited, and interested in everything that anyone else was doing. That's my girl. She is a what I call a "looky Lu!" She gets distracted pretty easily. She is a visual learner, so you'll often find her watching....and taking it all in.
She seemed to really like her classroom, even though it is painted in her least favorite color. My girl is NOT a fan of pink. She tolerates it...but would never pick it. A lot of the stuff was covered with sheets in hopes to keep some things a surprise for the first day. It added a bit of mystery. Sugar liked that.
I love this shot of the back of her head. She is playing with her hair, and watching everything around her. There was a little friend whom we hadn't seen in over a year that just took right to Sugar Bear and they chose to sit by each other on the first day.
All in all...it was a great evening. As you can see.....Sugar Bear just plain enjoyed it, and as all smiles. We are both so very thrilled with this wonderfully welcoming atmosphere.
Here's to a rockin' awesome First Grade Year!!!!
