While I sit around wondering where my summer is....I busy myself editing photos from LAST summer. Yes....it is true....I am incredibly behind on editing photos. I have NOT ordered prints since Sugar was a year old.....GASP! In fact, I haven't even figured out what exactly I am going to do with the BAZILLION photos I have taken yet. It is a full time job around here just taking, uploading, editing, and backing up my photos. There is absolutely NO WAY, I can stay on top of it. I force myself to go back and edit photos that I didn't have time to edit when I took them. It is actually sort of fascinating. I don't usually notice how much Sugar Bear has grown until I find myself editing photos from a year ago. WOW....where has my baby gone?
Just last week I found these unedited photos. I was instantly transformed back in time. I remember it like it was yesterday. We have just a few bushes of Wild Salmon Berries on our property. I am not a fan of these particular type of berries, but Sugar likes them well enough. Not a favorite, but she won't exactly pass them up either.
These photos were taken in the early evening, as we wandered around our property looking for berries. We lucked out that evening, and found quite a few, along with lots and lots of daisies!
Sugar gobbled up the berries, while I snapped photos. It was an ideal summer evening. Sigh....This year.....I'm waiting for it......hoping for it. We have had a TON of overcast, rainy or otherwise cool days here. I am longing for some weather that feels like summer. I'm on my summer break from work, and I just know how fast time flies. I'll be back to work before I know it, and I don't want my summer to pass me by. Sun...Sun....where are you?????? Come out, come out....where ever you are!
Despite the lack of SUMMER here, we are trying to take our time.....enjoy each day.....and STOP TO SMELL THE FLOWERS!
16 Live It or Love It:
Wow, she has grown in the past year! Funny how it sneaks up on you like that, I know what you mean. :)
I have pictures to deal with going back to December and I thought that was bad... LOL.
The last one is just adorable!
And I know what you mean about the editing and printing- so hard to keep up!
Sigh... Summer is MIA this year isn't it? I understand about editing. I'm so overwhelmed with just thinking about the four hundred plus pictures I took last week that I'm completley ignoring blogging. But my garden looks great!
What lovely pics, those berries look scrummy :)
And I can relate to the thousands of snaps, there's no way they're getting printed!
You probably won't get around to editing all of those photos until Sugar Bear is out of the house! So, don't feeel guilty about it! You are doing what you should be and focusing on being a mommy! I haven't printed out photos of Emma since she was a few weeks old! There are thousands and thousands and just no way I can keep up with them or afford that. I just make sure to triple save them (one copy on my external hard drive, one copy on a disk in our house and one copy on a disk at my parents' house). I hope I'm covered in case anything ever happnes!
That's what they mean by in a blink of the eye. According to my folks, the older you get, the faster it goes... I believe them :-)
Awww, look at her chubby little wrist!
They grow so fast, don't they?
Umm, your summer? I think it's visiting me. It's stinkin' hot here.
It really is amazing to see how much our babies have grown in the last year. I told N today that she's getting too big and asked her to stop growing; she said "I can't mommy, my body wants to grow up!"
I've never seen that type of berry.
*guilty here too*
I have 3.4 frazillion photos BEGGING to be converted to jpeg from raw or ORDERED for the scrapbook that I am always behind on.
Those pictures are ADORABLE.
I'm in the same boat...bad us!
I love the pic of Little Sugar Bear picking a flower...cute little paw!
i'm SOOOO sorry. we borrowed it for a couple days (the sun). we should have it back to you by the weekend. is that okay?
I LOVE those daisies!
WHat beautiful pics! It is nice to experience the sweet smells of summer with our little ones!
I'll be really glad if we could both trade the weather :) It's humid over here :(
I've never seen berries of those before. Nice orange shade and sure looks juicy!
I don't think we have those berries in the UK, lovely. Blimey hasn't she grown up. You're right, a year makes so much difference at this age doesn't it?
Just gorgeous, Corey! LOVE the daisy shots and Sugar sure makes a cute little berry picker -- she makes a cute little ANYTHING --LOL! :D
