Several weeks back, in an effort blanket ourselves in the last days of decent weather, Sugar Bear and I took off down our road on a little adventure. She had recently delighted in the opportunity to finally take her Jeep out of our yard, and was more than willing to give it a go again. With the petal to the
Sugar's main goal seemed to be to use every inch of the road, while calling over her shoulder, "come on, MOM! Let's go faster!" She was a bit hard to keep up with, but I didn't mind the exercise.
My man goal was to (surprise...surprise) take photos. However, I wasn't after just any old photos. I was determined to think outside the box. Before delving into the unknown, I took a few minutes to work on some sunflare shots. In the past, I had decent luck with these, but the following shots missed the mark.
Nothing to get all worked up about, but definitely not what I was after. As Sugar proceeded to drive round and round the little loop, Mama laid herself right down on her back in the grass. Oh yes I did, and one of the first things I noticed was this:
I successfully managed to get some pretty cool photos of which I posted HERE and HERE. Pushing myself to try new things can't possibly be a bad thing. Even if I don't always end up with something I'd do again, it is the process that matters. Life's too short to get in a rut. Even if the photos weren't how I imagined them.....the REAL thing was incredible.
The best part was when my little Sug got out of her Jeep, wandered over, and joined me in the grass saying, "What we doing, Mama?"
"Living and Loving Every Minute of It, Baby!"
13 Live It or Love It:
How sweet that she came to join you! I love that.
for a long time i have been looking for your blog. you're the one with the really nice photos that i really admired. somehow your blog got mixed up with all the others in my reader ... anyway, i am still admiring your photos and your daughter is so cute!
You've got some winners in there! Half the fun is in the composing and having good company along the way can't be beat!
Oh, that is so cool! I want one of those little Jeeps ;)
It's so fun to experiment with photos... you do so well with it too!
The sun flare shots are definitely the best ones out of the bunch! I love fuzzy-wuzzies! (that beautiful brown and black caterpillar) and the flower pic is just awesome too. Indiana is officially icky so I think I'm done with outside shots until spring [long sigh]
I agree - the fun is in the journey! And besides, I do think you got some pretty cool images.
Where do you find all this sunshine? JK, I know we've had some great weather this Fall. I love that caterpillar shot! And those photos in the last post, especially the newborn ones, made my uterus growl.
man oooh man I want one of those!
I bet she just loves riding around in that jeep! Great shot of the caterpillar too!
Oh I miss the warm weather when we could just wander around outside in the yard. It's gotten COLD here this week! Sigh.
Beautiful photos - and I do love the sunflare ones!
I have been absolutely itching to take my camera out of the house exploring with me these past few weeks..but the short busy days have kept me indoors and my 365 pics seem decidedly boring...but you're lovely adventurous shots have inspired me Corey! Tomorrow, no matter what I am getting out there with my camera and I am going to explore this new neighbourhood of ours through my camera lens!
Wow now that's a caterpillar. I love tat she came to see and I really want one of those jeeps. :D
Corey, you never cease to amaze me with your talent!! I always felt I had a eye for composition but I can never get the depth you capture. I am in awe!
