Yesterday, my Wordless Wednesday post, was filled with some nature photos I have taken in the last few weeks. My hope was to highlight the very reason we should feel so very blessed to be alive. My desire was to give our hearts the nudge it needs to take more and more baby steps to protect this beautiful earth of ours. The earth we are handing down to our children....and their children.
2008 began my journey to consciously make as many baby steps as possible to lead a greener life. My motivation lies in my child. I'm on a constant mission to reduce her chemical exposure, and protect the earth we love so much from the damage we are doing to it. Please head on over to the SimpleMom, to read a great post laying out 40 tips to Going Green.
Today, I participated in a great Earth Day Project that was introduced to me by Jeanette. I have been excitedly awaiting this day, in hopes of capturing a spectacular piece of my world to share. This morning I awoke to a really DEARY day. As the day progressed, I looked out my office window longing for the sun. Late in the afternoon, while the wind still whipped, the sun made it's appearance. I was thrilled. I head out of work a bit early to capture a few bits of nature.
#1. Sugar Bear found this shell at the beach the other day, and held it out to me saying, "This is my earth rock!" I can totally see what she meant. I ♥ her precious little soul.
#2. This is the view from my office. I am one lucky lady.
#3. I am so intrigued by the different textures you can find on trees.
#4. I have been driving past these amazing flowers for a few weeks now. I simply had to stop and take pictures of them today.
#5. I ♥ close-ups!
#6. Trees in blossom are always breathtaking.
#7. I love how the blossoms hang from the branches.
#8. I wish the bright green of this drakes head had shown up in this shot.
#9. This bridge is one of my favorite sights at our local park.
#10. The big one......hissed and chased me. I'm not a fan of Geese.
#11. I ♥ Sugar's little hands cupping this tiny plant.
#12. Happy Earth Day! It is in our hands!
Please leave me a comment voting for your top three choices. I want to enter three for the Earth Day Mosaic. I'd really appreciate your help!
HAVE YOU HUGGED YOUR EARTH TODAY?
21 Live It or Love It:
I love them all, but I vote #3, 5 and 12. :)
1, 6, and 9 are my favorites!
I love 1 and 11! Great photos and the view from your office is wonderful, how peaceful.
How beautiful! We have a bridge just like that at one of our local parks!
Yikes pick only 3...love the last one, the bridge and the close up of the purple flower.
You post was amzing, I totally agree...go green!
My faves are 5, 7 and 11. And I thought my office view was great... I keep trying to figure out where your office is now. :P
Ohhhh, I love 4 or 5 and 11!! Great job, Corey. :)
1, 11, and 9!!!!! Love that red bridge! And the rock?!?!?! How friggin sweet!
Gorgeous, all of them.
My top three are
1, 11, 12
I HATE geese, too.
I loved the hands on plant photo, that is definitely a framer and I'm so envious of all your color Corey!!
The second last one is my favourite by a long way!
ps. Very glad you're taking part :)
Your photography is stunning and God's creation is beautiful!
Beautiful photos! Thanks for participating in TMT this week!
Those are beautiful, Corey.
So lovely, Corey! Sugar's sweet hands cupping the tiny plant (#11 and #12) totally take the cake for me. I also love the bark (#3) and the gorgeous floer bokeh in #4.
3, 5, and 11. So hard to choose!!! Love all of them... :)
#1,3,5,7,and 12. Sorry, I couldn't narrow it more. I chose some because your bokeh was better. I am a huge bokeh fan. I am just learning my 50 mm. Great job Corey! I love 12 because you can see the roots of the plant. 1 because it does look like the earth after reading the story. #3 because the bark and your front and rear bokeh is fabulous. I loved 5 and 7 because of the background being more pure. I hope that helps. Hard decision! Good luck in your contest.
I really really enjoyed looking at your photos you have a great talent. I really liked them all, but I will vote for #3, #5, #11.
When I read your blog I keep thinking about the movie titled "A Beautiful Mind." It could be written about you!
I'm sorry it took me so ling to get over here and vote.
I love both of the hand shots -- the vertical one is my favorite. Talk about telling the whole story with one image.
And the bridge -- the contrast of the red of the bridge against the green of the back ground is startling and beautiful!
