“May your joys be as deep as the ocean, your sorrows as light as its foam.” ~Unknown
This week's Wordless Wednesday photos were such a treat to capture. It was a blustery sort of Sunday, and I dialed up a friend whom we hadn't seen in.....ummmm...months and months, and asked if we could come by for a visit.
This fabulous friend lives in a small town right near the ocean. She mentioned that the pelicans were migrating, and had decided to stop in their little town in numbers she had never seen in the few decades she had lived there. Knowing my love of photography, and Sugar's fascination with anything nature related, she wondered if we'd be interested in going on down to the jetty to take a little peek.
Our first attempt that day wasn't too successful. It rained, and the wind was biting cold. Sugar and our friend remained in the truck while I tried to snap a few shots of the flying pelicans. Some of the shots in my Wordless Wednesday post were taken at that time. Including a fun shot I snapped when my two truck bound observers decided to brave the weather during a brief let up of rain. Even though the sky was only letting loose of a few raindrops her and there, it was incredibly cold....and so very windy.
Soon we gave up, about 3 hours later, as the Sugar and I prepared to head home, I noticed that the sky was bright, and the rains had stopped. I decided to have another try at some pelican shots, and I'm soooooooooooooooooo glad I did. THIS time, Sugar got a chance to relax and enjoy the sights. She is such an adventurer.
There was so much to see.......and to point out.
The sights were AMAZING.
The ocean was unruly. I could have watched the waves crashing into the jetties forever.
The rough waters brought in lots of jiggly foam and driftwood. I wish I could have somehow captured how this two feet high piles of foam would slowly jiggle in the wind.
Instead, you'll have to be satisfied with more photos of Sugar Bear. I adore the jewel toned colors of her clothes against the grey skies of the blustery day.
The moments spent in nature, surrounded by the power of the mighty ocean, even had a bit of an affect on Sugar Bear. She was feeling GREAT! She did a little dance.....
And basically, spread her JOY.
Life is good!

I LOVE the dancing photo!!
Love them! I can hear the waves from here.
Beautiful! Chilly, but beautiful! :)
I love that last picture of Sugar. So cute! I know I've said it before but the older she gets the more of you I see in her features. :)
Oh, you're so blessed to be able to visit the ocean...and with a sweetheart like HER, to boot!!
Good? I'd say life is great. What gorgeous pictures (have you ever even taken a mediocre picture?). An I'm with Michelle - I love the dancing shot -- reminds me of my littlest.
Great job Corey!
That dancing photo is just the best, can see your child's personality jump out - she is a special child...
It's very cold at the moment in germany so can imagine how chilly it was at the sea...stunning sea shots.
I'm so glad you stuck with it and ended up with this fabulous memory and a fabulous photshoot! Sugar's joy is so infectious. And that scenrey...WOW! Such a wild, untamed beauty.
It's so funny because I think SB is about Vincenzo's age, but she seems so much older than him in all these pictures. It's so fun watching her grow up!
