Photo Hunters~ Different

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

When I first read the theme for this week, I groaned....literally groaned. I was positive it was going to be another week of endlessly wondering what exactly I should post.

Then quite suddenly it hit me that just last weekend I had taken some perfect photos to highlight the theme.

I'd like to present a series of photos taken of the same subject, but each displays a slightly DIFFERENT point of view. I'd like to encourage you to really study them, and leave me a comment letting me know which photo of the Lighthouse you like best, and why.

Isn't amazing how they can all look so DIFFERENT? Have a great weekend. Thank you so much for coming by my blog this week. I really look forward to seeing all the DIFFERENT pictures.

I like number 5! The clouds are so... puffy and it looks like an oil painting! :D

Heather said...

BEautiful shots, all of them. :)

Carver said...

I'm not good at this because I can find reasons to like them all best. They are wonderful shots. If I had to pick one it might be number 5 because you get the detail of the puffy clouds, can make out the mountain and you also can see the rocks pretty clearly. I love all the different shots.

Gorgeous shots! Love the difference in all of them!

Funny so many people picked 5...I personally have a hard time choosing between the first 3. But I think I like number 2 the best. I like the contrast of the green grass against the sky. The dark looming cloud on the horizon is what appeals about #1 and the detail in the rocky beach is what I like about #3. Very different!

Anonymous said...

My first choice is number 2 also. I just feels nice on the eyes. I also like 5 because it looks like a painting at a glance.

eastcoastlife said...

The same lighthouse but when viewed from different angles, it presents the many sides to it. I like No 5. It looks just like a painting!

Anonymous said...

It's difficult to chose one I like best, because each in it's own way is a powerful shot and conveys a story and emotion of its own. If forced, I'd probably go for the green foreground because I'm color starved at this time of year. Well done.

This is a great choice for the theme. I like 5 and 7 best, because of the clouds, but can't choose between those two. Probably 5 if pushed.
Have a great weekend and thanks for visiting.

What a great idea! Each though in different view and cropping are all lovely! Very well done on this week's theme! Hope you enjoyed it much! Happy hunting =)

Great shots. A different perspective or selective cropping can make a big difference I like the first shot in that it makes the lighthouse liook so small compared with the might of the sea. Happy weekend

Beautiful light house. Haven't seen one of those here.

Happy weekend!

The versatile of angles taken from a camera is amazing :) Looks like an array of different wonderful aspects of the same view :)

I really adore the first picture. I would actually buy it if I saw it in the gallery. Why? Because there is a fierceness in the waves that is shown in none of the other pictures. The waves alone are enough to make the first picture number one - in my opinion :)

Smalltown RN said...

that is great...yes it is lovely....I had incorporated a photo I took of our lighthouse in my post yesterday..I love lighthouses....your photos are fabulous

great take on the different theme! all shots are beautiful! =)

I like the 1st one! I love the clouds and then then crystal blue sky. I also love how you can see the waves crashing down in the background. Then you have this beautiful red lighthouse popping out of the picture! It's gorgeous! I love your take on this week's theme!

Gorgeous photos!!! WOW!
I like #1 and #7 because I like the composition of both shots.

These are all good shots, and they all have their different characters. As a purely personal choice I like the third - it looks lonely, like a guardian in the middle of no-where.

All beautiful photos - I love #5.

Happy Weekend.

I just adore all pictures because you justified the beauty of it...seems that you are professional in photography...give my sweet kiss to the little cutie baby in you header ...I love her more

All of those are wonderful and each one has its merit... it was really, really hard to pick one favorite. I would say 6 only because there is more to look at. Great job!

I like #2 its nice to see a green grass with that light house. Your choice is nice and pretty. Happy weekend.

I like the first one best because the lighthouse appear to be the focus that stands out overlooking the sea and sky.

Sarge Charlie said...

wow, I love your photos, could not pick a favorite

Great post!! I loved 1, 2, 3 and 5the best!! Those are the ones that gave me the "ooo's and ahhh's."

OK ... top to bottom, my immediate emotional (for as you have discovered, all of life is experienced at the emotional level with me) "knee jerk" reflex to each.

(1)"Distant"
(2)"Inviting"
(3)"Imposing"
(4)"Going Away"
(5)"Hopeful"
(6)"Alive"
(7)"Picturesque"

Harajuku PearL said...

Now this is difficult as I love all of them. But the one that really caught me with the whole emotion, is number 1. The whole proportion with the sky, sea, lighthouse is just so serene..

Five and Six are my favorites. I like that angle, A LOT!

SabineM said...

WOw, these are fabulous! Amazing! Love them!

tommie said...

#5 is my favorite with all those fluffy clouds!

Bellevelma said...

Number 6! It's awesome. The rocks and broken pier in the bottom corner are a counter weight to the light house in the opposite corner. And that is the extent of my inner art critic. I love it!

Unknown said...

Fabulous shots!! I like #3 the best. I like your interpretation of the theme!

Anonymous said...

I like 5. But also 1. And 2. And 7. Hell, and 3 and 4.

Love your interpretation of the theme.

What's YOUR favorite?

Gen said...

Great shots! My husband and I went away to the Oregon Coast a few months ago, and I took several pictures of one light house from different angles, some from the water, some from land, up close, and far away. It was really cool to see how different each view was.

Liz Hinds said...

1 and 7 I think are my favourites.

They are all absolutely stunning!

Nice shots esp. # 5. Love them all.

Love all the photos, Corey, specifically #5 :)

Have a great weekend!

Wonderful post, Corey

I like them all, but I think my favourites are 2 (a ``different'' view of a familiar symbol and 3 (a great look at the reason why lighthouses were such a life-saver.

Don Mills Diva said...

I think I like the second one the best - the green is nice as a added colour.

Maude Lynn said...

I like #3 the best. The green grass provides great contrast, and I like the flowers to the bottom right.

Look at you! Mrs Popular! :)

Love #6! You are so talented!

Do you have surfers there? Cole and Anden needs pics for their rooms! We need beach pics!

Those are just beautiful. I am having a hard time just picking one favorite.

Rach said...

They all could be post cards!

Tokenhippygirl said...

Very lovely... my favorite though, having to choose, is #2 with #5 coming in a close second. The reasons... I love the shock of green on 2 and the clouds in 5.

SnoopyTheGoon said...

Wow. That was a whole essay on different. Cool.

Thanks for visiting and have a great week!

I am with the others on the clouds in #5 but I have to pick #2. There is something about the green grass that just makes that photo pop!

holly said...

firstly, i'm a libra. and now you're making me choose. that's just great. thanks much. no really.

okay.
1) i love this one because i can see myself surfing the waves that are rolling in (i'm not that good, i just do the small ones). and i love the cloud line above the blue sky. it shows that yes, there's a lighthouse, but there's other stuff going on.

2) okay i love this one because it combines some greenery and flowers in, still got the blue water, and i love slightly panoramic-type shots anyway. so now *this* one is my favorite.

3) oh crap okay now i love this one because you can see the little causeway starting out in the bottom of the picture. i still like 2 a little better though.

4) this one's just crap.

kidding! i love it too! it's got the landscape thing going.

5) ooooh now i like this perspective on it. this one makes me want to jump in for a swim, get over, realize there is no ice cream for sale, then swim back. and there's the puffy clouds too. nice.

6) now this one looks very much like a puzzle i once did. love it.

7) okay so we're supposed to pick *one* that is our favorite. oh i'm so going to have to make a cup of tea to decide this.

okay the one i'd like to hang on my wall...
#2.
no, 5. no, 7. d'oh i'm outta here.

number 2!

Anonymous said...

I choose number 1. It has clouds and sea wave in the background to make it standing out compared to others.

Cath said...

Hi, I'm over from David's blog on his recommendation.

I like no.2 the best. This is because it looks like the most natural colours (or maybe a brighter day and I prefer bright to dull!) but mostly because, by having it landscape, with the lighthouse to the right of the picture (the only one where the lighthouse is to the right), it gives the perception of the lonliness. Lighthouses stand alone against the elements and are miles usually from anything. They are the first and last warning. Seeing it stand with nothing but open sea and dangerous rocks totally illustrates that strength and vulnerability at the same time.

Just one humble opinion. All great shots and amazing how they all look so DIFFERENT!

CMB said...

#3 for me! I just love the water in that one.

Daryl said...

Yeah .. #2 ... that's the 1.. really #2 .. not 1 .. 2

Great photos all

Those are gorgeous, Corey! I have postcards that aren't as pretty as those... I can't decide which is my favorite - it's between either 1, 3 or 5, but really I love all of them. What lighthouse is that? They are one of my favorite things to take pictures of (after my girls, of course!). :)

Jo Beaufoix said...

Oooo Corey, these are fab. I love number 2 the best I think. The expanse of green makes the picture brighter and more vivid for me. I also love the layers of texture in it, with the bands of colour.
Number 1 came a close second as again I love the way the frame is divided by different textures and colours, especially the band of blue and then the band of clouds in the sky. Amazing.

Anonymous said...

It is hard to believe these were all taking during the same time period. The sky looked very different in a few of them. It was also interesting to see how a slight change of perspective really altered the mood of the shot.

My favorites were 2, 4 and 6. The lighthouse was amazing in all of the pictures (the sky as well). However, these pictures had something interesting in the foreground that added depth to the picture (I really like how the grass in #2 lightened the mood of the shot).

Anonymous said...

I love those photos. they are wonderful. I like most # 5. the puffy clouds are pretty.
