Been Reading.....

Okay....so not much is getting done around the Living and Loving household. Seriously.....I don't know where all my time goes, but I do know that I get giddy as it becomes closer and closer to bedtime, as I know I'll get to read. ♥ I am foolishly in love with reading. In fact....I'm a hoarder of Library books. It is not at all strange to find 4-6 Library books on my bedside table on any given night. I arrange and rearrange them trying to decide which order I want to read them. Then I finish one, and before I can start another, I make a trip to the Library, and pick up one or two more...then I have to rearrange again. I think this is an illness. oh yes....I do.

Since Mid-September of this year, I have read 33 books....nearly 14 and half of those have been read since January 1st. That is more than a book a week. How on earth can I explain this? I do 90% of my reading after both my child and husband are asleep, so please do not think I'm neglecting my family. What I am neglecting.....MY SLEEP! ugh...I'm exhausted...but I can guarentee that tonight...I won't fall face first into my bed sound asleep...nope....I'll read...for an hour...maybe two. Then...regret it in the morning. Why do I do this to myself? Why am I so drawn to these books?

I read almost anything, and I jump around a lot. My main love is mystery, but anything that makes me wonder.....or teaches me something new....I devour. Good Stuff.

I always have a running list of the books I've read in the past year down at the bottom of my blog, but here is the books I've read since January 1st.

“Murder Had a Little Lamb” By Cynthia Baxter

“Siblings without Rivalry” by Adele Faber, Elaine Mazlish

“Kite Runner” by Khaled Hosseini

“The Death and the Life of Charlie St. Cloud” by Ben Sherwood

“Cat Sitter Among the Pigeons” by Blaize Clement

“The Shadow of the Wind” by Carlos Ruiz Zafon

“Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ’s Childhood Pal” by Christopher Moore

“Key Lime Pie Murder” by Joanne Fluke

“Room: A Novel” by Emma Donoghue

“Flying Changes” by Sara Gruen

“A Thousand Splendid Suns” by Khaled Hosseini

“Sunday’s At Tiffany’s” By James Patterson

“Candy Cane Murder” By Joanne Fluke

“Crossing the Lion” by Cynthia Baxter

If I had to pick an ultimate winner of this group, I'd have to choose, "Room: A Novel" by Emma Donoghue. It was an amazing book like nothing I have ever read before. It is entirely written from the perspective of a 5 year old. So facinating. A close second would be "The Kite Runner" by Khaled Hosseini. I had never read about the Afghani culture before. It was good for me. I like to believe that reading a wide variety of books helps me grow as a person. Each book I read becomes a part of me.

So tell me....Do you read? What sorts of books do you like? I'd love to hear all about it. Not only do I love to read...I love to talk about reading. :)

I love reading too. I have to read before I go to bed, but usually only get about 15 minutes in before it's lights out. I just finished Zeitoun by Dave Eggers. It was awesome. It's about a Muslim family that survived Katrina. It is so fascinating. It's a must read. I have read a few of Joanna Fluke's books before too. I also enjoyed Janet Evanovich's books. They are mysteries, but still light and funny.

I love to read but rarely take the time. The last book I actually FINISHED reading was last Summer. Sigh... Some day I will pick and choose from your list. :) My mom is like you, she reads and reads. She's a book hoarder too. She's given me so many books to read and they just sit on my dresser waiting for me.

I love to read too. I just got a library card a few months ago! I have so much going on that I don't have near the time I would like to devote to reading! I live murder mysteries.
