February 27th was a day of mad, mad, mad scrambling to get packed for our girl's trip. Oh my word. I was still sick...and hadn't gotten anything done for TWO days, and had to rush around getting everything together. I am not usually like that. I typically pack almost a week in advance. I'm type A when it comes to planning.
February 28th was our last day in our "real life". Sugar Went to school, and I went to work. I promptly look about 4 times the normal dosage (long story) of Sudafed, and immediately became LOOPED. Seriously, folks...I was wacked out of my brain that day. Not good. Luckily, it mostly wore off by the end of the work day, and I had time to get my Truck from the Collision Center. Woo hoo...so glad to have it back! I was not liking that little car. I then picked up Sugar and headed to my parent's house for the night. My mom had dinner ready and waiting. It was lovely.
March 1st, was a BIG BIG BIG day for us. Sugar Bear and I flew to Orange County. It was Sugar's first time in an airport and on a plane. It was exciting and nerve racking all at the same time. She had a good time, other than the fact that both of us suffered from ear pain in the decent. Darn cold, and congested sinus cavities. :( Sugar even cried because it hurt so bad. BUT...we finally landed, and our totally awesome, and fabulous, and wonder friend Carol and her son Danny picked us up at the airport and drove us to Disneyland! woo hoo.....we spend the afternoon at California Adventure, and had a wonderful time. The Aladdin show was AMAZING!
March 2nd was our first day in the Disneyland section of the park. WOW...what a long but rewarding day. I love this picture because I saw this view a lot. Sugar Bear would entertain herself in all the long lines by looking at the map. She loved picking out where we would go next. While I do NOT believe that Disneyland is the "happiest place on earth", we did manage to enjoy ourselves from 10am-9:30pm that day. Just me and my girl. Delightful!
March 3rd came around...and we found ourselves back at Disney. It was a super long day, but we took our time, and savored being in each other's company. Sugar Bear had some money to spend....and she certainly takes after her mama....she just could decide what to buy. In fact....she didn't see one thing she just HAD TO HAVE the entire time....until......about 15 minutes before we left, she saw this darling little Bolt stuffed animal, and just light up like a birthday cake. THAT is what she had been looking for. This picture was taking just as we left the park. It is a tad blurry, but I love it...it sums it all up for me.
March 4th was quite nearly THE.BEST.DAY.EVER!!!! Yes, better than Disneyland....and I meant that 127%. Our Orange County hosts were beyond amazing. They really worked hard to make our stay memorable, and couldn't have done a better job. We love and miss them. They took us to TWO different beaches, where coats...mitten, and stocking caps were not needed. We love that. We played....and took pictures...and had a wonderful day. I'll be posting pictures soon...I hope.
March 5th was a super busy day. Our hosts gave us the most delicious breakfast ever, then took us on a little adventure. This was the only day that seemed hot, so we ended up at a fun little fountain, and the two littles played in the water. I'll be posting those pics as well. :) Then they dropped us at the airport and we flew home. All flights were on time...and went well. No painful ears this time. HOORAY! We made it home at 10:15pm. Long, long day, but oh so rewarding. ♥
I really hope to have more pictures of post soon. I'm just so very busy right now. It all takes time, and I'm short on that right now. All in all....Sugar Bear and I had such a perfect vacation. I'm so very glad I decided to go for it. It was very spontaneous of me, and full of lots of "firsts!"
4 Live It or Love It:
What a FUN week! Sugar looks so cute in her Minnie mouse ears.
I am glad you decided to go for it too. You just created some wonderful everlasting memories!!!
Why the Hubby didin't go?
The Hubby didn't want to go. He isn't all that patient with lines...and crowds. And I wanted to spend time with a friend down there....and do photography. it was a vacation for me. Not something he would enjoy.
