We were Tempted!

June2209_0011ew

Sugar is a HUGE fan of fresh fruit, and seriously...who can blame her? What is NOT to love? From fresh pears, to watermelon....to nectarines, this girl can put it away. The other day, she ate nearly entire cantaloupe in less than an hour. If I had not stopped her, she'd have been sorely sorry the next day...if you know what I mean? One can only consume so much fresh fruit before you PAY.THE.PRICE.

June2209_0026ew

This week, we were browsing our local market for some fruit, and found a little something that we could not resisted.

Okay...so it wasn't really like THAT. In fact, this airheaded mama THOUGHT she had bought a Honeydew....when in fact...it was a TEMPTATION MELON. Never heard of it....me either! It was quite a surprise to crack that puppy open to find light orange flesh.

Sugar looked at me...I looked at her, and we dove in. Yummalishous! Juicy and sweet. It appears that a Temptation Melon is a cantaloupe/honeydew hybrid, and it is delish. Check it out.

Sugar is gobbling it up, and I couldn't resist some pics of her enjoying this new treat.

June2209_0018ew

She just loves this healthy treat, and I love watching her happily hum....and munch.

June2209_0029ew

She is four years old, and I have never taken pics of her enjoying melon. SHOCKED....aren't you?

June2209_0025ew

But I'm so glad I finally did. We all might have missed THIS priceless treasure.

THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN A SHAME!

That melon looks so good. We do not have fresh fruit. We have "picked green and ripens while shipped" fruit. I'm jealous!

Sugar looks so good, too! :)

We get those here and they are to die for! Wrap a bit of parma ham around a wedge and serve it as a starter. Refreshing and light! Simply the best!

Hello there on this not so nice summers day in Germany

In south africa that melon is common, its known as *sweet melon* - we get it from time to time in Germany as well...also can be called *Paw Paw* - or spanspek in Afrikaans.
Lovely photo's, Sugar makes me which I had some chilled melon in my fridge instead of Apples, strawberry's and Kwiwi's..

Interesting to read that you were a group leader...and now struggling to get back on plan...I fear maintaining...any tips on how one does that successfully...

Great pics! I haven't ever had that one. My husband loves honeydew and cantelope so he would like that one for sure. I, too, love the last photo. As for Bryce's football photo, that is his GAME FACE! lol

Great pictures, Carrie. We love fruit, too.

Where we used to live they grew Temptation Melons, only they were called "Honeylopes". They are so sweet!

Wonderful shots! My youngest is a big blueberry fan. In fact, she went to the market to day to lay in a fresh supply...

That last picture is hilarious!

I have a good friend that prints photos in black and white of people eating. She has them in random sized frames in the eat-in area of her kitchen. It makes me laugh every time!

I've never heard of Temptation Melon. I bet that Baby Puppy would love it. She adores cantaloupe.

Yum!!! I've never before heard of temptation melon before either. We'll have to keep a lookout, as Nadia is a fruit LOVER too! Strange to sometimes have to tell my child to STOP eating fruit. ;)

That last photo is giggle-tastic!
