Team-up Thursday~ Self-portrait

teamup

Hosted by Megan and Hip Momma

This week, we were asked if we could all do the same theme of "self-portrait". I'm really excited to see what everyone looks like. I know several were dreading this theme, but in all honesty, I enjoyed taking some time to snap a few of myself. I wanted to show a bit of who I am. It was an easy choice to just grab a book and read in front of my camera on the timer. I have been such a reading fanatic these days. I blogged about my return to the land of pleasure reading HERE. If you look at the very bottom of my blog, on the right side you'll see the list of books I've read since mid-September. Currently, I'm reading, as you can see in the photo, Midnight In the Garden of Good and Evil.

There are just not enough words to explain how wonderful it has been to get back to my reading. Other things have taken a back seat, though. There are just not enough hours in the day to do all the things that make me feel happy.

This photo of Berta makes me giggle. I can relate to it so very much. I have quite the little love affair with my camera, as well. I am pretty sure it is safe to say that I have gotten immeasurably more enjoyment, and satisfaction from my camera than from any of the books I have read.

Head on over to Megan's blog to see lots of other self-portrait pairs.

I've been waiting all week to see everyone's posts for Thursday! I love how natural yours looks and how you chose to shoot yourself doing something you love. Funny tho, I use my remote, but I never even thought about using the timer. Duh. That would probably help alot for those times I dont want the 'remote in hand' in the picture! Berta's is great too. I think we can all relate to the love affair with our cameras! I'm gonna go kiss mine right now...:0) Great job Ladies!

Great shots! I LOVED Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. I was just thinking about that one the other day.

nose buried in a book - yep, that could be me too!! I didn't know you had your book list down there...can't wait to check it out! Love how natural you look, and lost in the world of words. And I think we can ALL relate to Berta's love affair! hehehe! It's great that you both went b&w too - that's unusual for you!

You have a flair for making "assignments" fun. Your hair is just adorable!

Thank you for inspiring me...I must get back to reading again. It has been awhile and it is something I really love.

Marty and I did a take on b/w too quite intentionally. Yours and Berta's look great together. I like how you're both involved in something you like doing. :)

I can so relate to both of your photos. Reading is such an outlet for me too. Sometimes other things have to take a backseat especially if it means saving your own sanity. I love that both are in B&W too.

oh i so relate -- i am a huge reader, too. in fact, i do have a self-portrait from last year that is just my eyes peeking over a book :). i really like that you both chose something you love to include in your portraits -- they really say something so personal about both of you.

It just dawned on me - we did them both in black and white - I didn't notice that last night!!! haha, we're funny! ALSO, I like them stacked on top of each other - better use of space! I'm going to sit down TODAY and read 10 pages of 'something'!

I always love it when you come out from behind your camera!

I love that both your shots reflect where you are at this moment. Well done!

I love the shot of you reading, and I am in a similar place. I have been reading much more lately than I have in a few years. It is such a nice thing to be able to do and get lost in books. :)

See, you manage to do what I just can't. You look casual, not posed, just you being yourself. Now THAT is talent in my book! :)
