Some of you might know that I like Photography. tee hee...okay so all of you might know that. It is pretty obvious since I tend to post about 4,586,421 photos every week, huh? It might not be a surprise that Sugar Bear is not impressed with my camera much anymore, and is virtually impossible to fanagle into even looking at the camera. In nearly all cases, that is fine with me. I enjoy photographing her life just as it is. I love the non-posed candid shots just as much as the next guy.
However, I have been after a PERFECT three year old portrait. When I say PORTRAIT, I am refering to a classic portrait that the grandparents are proud to frame and post on the wall. The grandparents enjoy the candids, and have plenty of those little frames around the house, but they want that classic photo that shows the BEST of their little grandchildren. So....on and off....I try to get such a portrait of Sugar Bear, but I have been unsuccessful for nearly 5 months. sigh....
In the mean time, I promised to capture the yearly portraits of my neices. I had so much fun doing them last year, so I was pretty eager to do it again. First up was Cousin K. She is 5 years old, and going into kindergarten this fall. We had so much fun together that evening. While the little girls played on the playground, we had our special photoshoot. She did a wonderful job, and was so proud of herself. These are true smiles for her. She is a bit self conscience of her smile these days, so she hold her lips tight. I had to really pull out all the comedic stops to get those laughs out.
I appologize for sharing so many....but I just couldn't help it.
And my personal favorites. What a little honey she is, huh?
Stay tuned for Little Sister's turn with the camera.

Corey, those are wonderful! She is beautiful - and so are your shots. :)
I wish I could get you over here to do portraits of my girls! ;)
Those are really professional! I love the ones where she is lying down. Of course, she is an absolutely adorable subject!
I love them all but I especially love the one when she in that "rock" place! Fabulous, fabulous work.
Corey,
Those are so good. I love the last one. She is such a doll, all of those W girls are dolls!
Do you think you can shoot a good session with a boy? :-) I need some good 5 year portraits!
Wow, you really weren't kidding when you said this shoot had gone well! She's a gorgeous girl, and these images are stunning. Perfect light in every single one! I love the ones leaning on the bridge rail. You did such a great job getting her to relax and show her pretty smile. It's a success!
oh gosh, so many of those were so cute. I think my favorite was the last one on the bench
What an adorable little model Corey!
I love the ones of her on the bridge and resting on the bench! What a treasure...both the subject and the photos! Can't wait to see the rest of the family!
I think the grandparents are going to have a hard time picking a portrait to hang on their wall!! Wish we lived closer so you could do some portraits of my kids! :)
She's a sweetie! I love that last one the best. :-)
Ahhh what a cutey, she did so well. I love the last one especially, adn the one where she's all thoughtful on the bench.
these are all so cute. and so *what* if she had to take a little nap halfway through...
(i couldn't resist)
seriously, these are soooo good that i want to fly out with my kids and make you portraitize (that's a word now) them.
Great job. She is gorgeous and your choice of photos are fabulous.
