For the month of December, Lindy chose the theme: Spiritual. It must be said that I am extremely excited to see the variety of photos both Lindy, and Jeanette (and anyone else who has decided to join us) have come up with. Spiritual is such a wonderful subject, and can really be diverse.
I enjoyed very much the process I took this month to gather my shots. As it turns out, I had an opportunity to spend some time in a church I have driven by many times in the last 12 years, but have yet to enter. I etched out some time, and stole away to the sanctuary where I found many beautiful subjects.
I found this lovely cross at the very front of the sanctuary. I appreciated the beauty of how the light from the small window fell across it.
On a table near the entrance of the sanctuary, the congregation had set up a variety of Nativity scenes. I spent a great deal of time taking in the magnificent variety that was displayed. The following photo is of the virgin mother and child. This set was about 15 inches high, and made of molded stiff fabric. I loved how simple it's beauty was.
I instantly fell in love with the figures in this next photo. The lines.....and emotion....just drew me in.
Usually I only share my three favorites for the month, but I wanted to share this last one even though it didn't turn out as I would have hoped. I did not have my tripod with me, and I surely could have used it for this photo. To achieve the rays of light, and practiced the same technique I used for my Christmas Tree photos. I love this idea, and wished I had pulled it off better.
