Team-Up Thursday~ Time

teamup

Hosted by Megan and Hip Momma

This week, Berta and I chose to focus on the idea of TIME. Our heads were on the Daylight Savings change that happened over the weekend. I don't know about Berta, but Daylight Savings really throws me for a loop. I like daylight just as much as the next guy, but honestly....messing with my internal clock is just not nice. It takes me WEEKS to adjust. Lately I've been up WAY past my bedtime, and am really having to drag my tired little hiney out of bed in the morning. ICK. I stare at the clock and think, "You have got to be kidding me!" as the alarm beeps loudly, over and over again.

For the theme, however, I really wanted to feature something that depicted the idea of TIME without going for the obvious. It was quite a challenge. One of the first things that came to mind was something I marvel at each time I happen upon rock formations. I love to examine the layers of sediment that have built up to form the rock. It is so amazing to see the layers of different colored rock. I stand there running my fingers over the lines, and imagining all the TIME that has past since each layer was on top. I really blows my mind. Not only is it simply incredible, it is beautiful to boot.

I really love Berta's photo. She really covered many aspects of TIME in her single shot. Composition wise, it is fabulous. I love the angles, and shapes in the photo. For some reason it really grabs my eye. OH and speaking of EYE, the older fellow's eye in the shot really draws me in. Very well done, Berta!

OK, SO very interesting that you chose a rock formation because I would have never thought about that! True time capsules. Great thinking!

love these together. i saw it yesterday when you posted to flickr and it took me a minute to figure out the rocks -- great idea!

I love that both of you took a different approach to the theme. Both are such beautiful shots.

I love your shot of geologic time. That's an excellent depiction of an idea related to time. Rocks and trees both seem to have great time elements about them mostly related to their passage. :) Great combo.

Awesome idea to show the passage of time thru geologic formation! Nice!! You are so good at thinking outside the box.

Daylight savings is tough for me too...I want to stay up way too late and then regret it in the morning. Especially this year with Nadia gone for spring break with her daddy and me not wanting to go to bed to an empty room...burning the midnight oil over here!

Yay for thinking outside of the box! It is a beautiful rock formation and I am sure that you had many interesting areas and angles to shoot from. The thought of compressed time like that is quite amazing. Nice job.

Oh wow, my life is in a whirl-wind . . . I'm just getting around to comment on your 'beautiful' photo! Others said thinking 'outside' the box - and you truly did - just so perfect! It's been fun being your partner. Only wish 'life' would slow down - uggggh!
