This, That, and the Other

Several weeks back, in an effort blanket ourselves in the last days of decent weather, Sugar Bear and I took off down our road on a little adventure. She had recently delighted in the opportunity to finally take her Jeep out of our yard, and was more than willing to give it a go again. With the petal to the metal plastic we were off.



Sugar's main goal seemed to be to use every inch of the road, while calling over her shoulder, "come on, MOM! Let's go faster!" She was a bit hard to keep up with, but I didn't mind the exercise.



My man goal was to (surprise...surprise) take photos. However, I wasn't after just any old photos. I was determined to think outside the box. Before delving into the unknown, I took a few minutes to work on some sunflare shots. In the past, I had decent luck with these, but the following shots missed the mark.







Nothing to get all worked up about, but definitely not what I was after. As Sugar proceeded to drive round and round the little loop, Mama laid herself right down on her back in the grass. Oh yes I did, and one of the first things I noticed was this:

I successfully managed to get some pretty cool photos of which I posted HERE and HERE. Pushing myself to try new things can't possibly be a bad thing. Even if I don't always end up with something I'd do again, it is the process that matters. Life's too short to get in a rut. Even if the photos weren't how I imagined them.....the REAL thing was incredible.

The best part was when my little Sug got out of her Jeep, wandered over, and joined me in the grass saying, "What we doing, Mama?"

Vintage Sugar Bear~From Birth to 3 Months

Since Ann requested a newborn photo of Sugar Bear, and I am busy digital scrapbooking these days, I figured a really easy blog post would be a few shots of Miss Sugar in her first three months of life. Why not?

The follow photo is easily one of my all time favorites of Sugar Bear. She is less than 20 minutes old. She had yet to even be weighed yet. This is truly a peek at how fabulous my Sugar Bear is. Look how perfect, and content she is. Sigh....the CRUSH begins. (I love how it looks like she is waving at the camera)

Here she is three days later on her first night at home. She was a bit jaundice, but healthy and sweet as can be.

Five days old, and posing for her birth announcement shots. AWWWWWW.....

First real bath... 17 days old, and a mover and a shaker already.

She wasn't too happy with the dry off, after the bath. Poor Little Sug!

Here she is alittle over a month old, and so smiley.

Almost two months old, and already bored with Mama and her photography antics.

Alittle over 2 months old and really filling out. Breast milk does a baby good. :)

Sugar Bear's first Easter. Two and a half months old, and a serious mama's girl. The admiration goes both ways......BIG TIME!

A day shy of 3 months old, and full of sass. Gotta love a baby raspberry!

Sigh....those were the days. I have to admit that I just loved the newborn phase. Those first few months of attachment development just melts my heart. I'd rewind Sugar Bear's life in an instant and do it ALL over again. There just hasn't been a stage that I didn't enjoy. What a blessing she is!

Photo Hunters~ Together

Every once in awhile I get the urge to share some vintage Sugar Bear photos, so when I noticed the theme for the photo hunt was, TOGETHER, I just knew I had to share a few photos from my first attempt at using the timer on my old point and shoot camera. These photos were taken back in May of 2006, when Sugar Bear was only 16 months old. Sigh....look at us TOGETHER....sigh.....good times.











I treasure these photos very much, as it is really rare for us to be in photos TOGETHER. I really need to make a better effort to document our relationship more often.
