Fakin' It!

The other day, Carolyn pointed me in the direction of this really fascinating quiz . I am not usually too quick to participate in Internet Quizzes, but this one was different. In my life, I am a bit of a people watcher. I am extremely interested in human behavior, so this particular activity of observing people smile, and determining whether they are faking it or not appealed to me greatly. I successfully identified 19 out of 20. It validated my belief that I read people fairly well.

I urge you to go give it a try, and come back and let us know how you did and how it made you feel.

I have to admit....I am a bit confused still about one of them. I think I was distracted by trying to figure out if IT was male or female. eeeekkkk.....

Friday Freestyle

Happy Friday everyone! I did it. I survived a whole week at work without eating chocolate. whew.....10 days down...only....like FOREVER to go. tee hee...but seriously, it is going quite well.

However, the lack of Chocolate is not helping my patience level, me thinks. I have been trying for two night to upload a simple little video and the Internet hates me. I guess a freakin 58 second video is just too dang large or something. I am still working on it. It has been loading for almost 3 hours and we are half way done. ugh........so may see it next year. le sigh....

Friday Freestyle

Wow what a fast week. I can hardly believe it is Friday already. I think vacation time can do that to a person...you lose track of time. Oh and have you ever noticed that a week at work last MUCH longer than a week on vacation. It isn't fair. I tell you...NOT FAIR!

We are desparately trying to get back into the swing of things. I broke a record this year by getting my Christmas tree and inhouse decorations down BEFORE the New Year. Sure I still have the outside lights up...but heck, all I have to do it get those suckers down before Valentine's Day, and I'll be ahead of schedule. I'm not feeling the pressure just yet.

This month I am jumping on the Holly bandwagon. I am attempting an entire month without Chocolate. Oh yes...you read that right....NO CHOCOLATE! I figure that 95% of all the tempting things that show up at work contains chocolate. If....just possibly I can manage to not eat a single bite of chocolate for a month, I will break my horrible habit of grazing at work. I am ridding my house of all chocolate, and hoping that in the end....my rearend will thank me. Wish me luck!

In case anyone was worried, I am bonding with the new computer nicely. I have things basically figured out, and I am enjoying my new set up. Having two computers hooked to one monitor rocks. I can totally be rocking Photo Shop on one, while surfing the net on the other so easily. It rocks. So far....so good.

I am hoping to get back to some photo blogging. I haven't been editing pics much lately, as I have been short on time. I miss it, and the photos are stacking up. Ugh. I want to thank everyone for all the lovely comments regarding my photos. It is by far my favorite hobby and your support certainly blesses my heart.

Friday Freestyle

Seriously....I can't decide if this week flew by...or if it was the longest week of my life. I think my problem is that I can't even remember last Friday. I was too busy worrying over a sick Sugar Bear. We are both on the mend. I am feeling better, but Sugar's poor little system is still trying to regulate. The seasonal fear of germs has official begun for me. It is this time of year that I annoy everyone I know, but NOT allowing Sugar to be around anyone that I know is sick. I'm sorry....but being sick sucks, and I will not purposely expose my child to that. UGH! I just don't understand why there has to be so many awful sick germs out there. NO FUN!

I have BIG news......HUGE news! I will be gone.....allllllllllllllllll week! eeekkkkk! I am leaving Sunday for a Business Trip. I am pretty excited to be traveling to a city in which I have never been, and equally excited to have my new toy to play with while I am there. tee hee... Sugar will be staying with my parents. She will be having a blast. I am going to miss her like a crazy fool, but I'll call her three times a day, and get my baby talk fix.

Anyhow, I toyed with the idea of being totally MIA, but I just can't do that to you. I know you would miss me too much, so I have enlisted the help of my friend Megan, in helping me post while I am gone. As far as I know, I will be completely away from any sort of computer all week. EEEEKKKKKK believe you me, I am more than a tad scared to come back to my google reader. My only hope is that it will be the first week AFTER NABLOMO HO HO HO....so many bloggers just might be on strike.

So, never fear! Pretend Corey will be here. I will be re-posting more of my original posts from the beginning of my blog. You know...back before I was famous. snicker...snicker....

I had actually intended on having new posts for Megan to post for me...but getting sick really put a damper on my energy level, and my time. I am fairly certain viewing 6 days straight of cartoons damaged more than a few of my brain cells as well.

Friday Freestyle

Happy Friday everyone! It is the best kind of Friday around here. It is a long weekend sort of Friday. I actually have a FIVE day weekend. WOW! I am so very spoiled, huh? Well, don't feel too jealous. I spent the entire Thanksgiving day tending to a puking child. Odds are....I'll be puking tomorrow. sigh....it will be fine. I'm sure.

Anyhow, today, I'd like to discuss Bloggy Communication. I have been blessed with some really lovely readers of this little thing I call my blog. I have been over blessed with some very active commenters as well. For that I thank you. I do like to talk...and I do talk A LOT, but it isn't fun to feel like I am talking to myself. I can do that in my head. It is a kick for me to have folks commenting, and interacting with me.

I do find that it is difficult for me to always get back to people about their comment. I don't always like to go to YOUR blog and leave a comment about YOUR comment, as I think it takes away from the topic that had been discussing. If I comment back on my own thread, I know that most people don't come back to it to check it out, so that feels like a waste of energy. My preferred method of responding it through email. Several months ago, my friend, Megan, posted about this, and directed her readers to a post that gave directions on how to change a setting, so that when you comment, the email message comes from your email account and not the "noreply". This is fabulous. When Megan leaves me a comment, I can easily just hit reply in my email, and comment right back. I love it. It is so efficient and I feel that it strengthens the communication loop.

I'd love to direct you to Katherine's post, Comment Mystery Solved, so that you may consider making the change as well. I'd love to be able to contact you directly regarding your comments. Think of the fun we'll have. tee hee

Yahooooooooooooo it's friday people! I love love love short weeks! I am so ready for the weekend. I have totally NOTHING planned, but that is totally how I like it.

It was another fab blogging week. My blog reader is FULL, and you all are really writing some great stuff. Keep it coming.

What a fabulous week we had. It went by fast....I'm incredibly tired, and I can't even think of a single thing to talk about.

Except, that is, the BEST Halloween Blog post I read all week. Bellevelma, from Running With Books, wrote the most heart warming post about Halloween: Then and Now. I must insist that you all check it out. It touched me deeply. I am so easily moved by a mother's love. Thank you Bellevelma for sharing a piece of your heart with us.

Thank you to everyone one that left me comments this week. I appreciate your time so much and each comment blessed my heart. I have nearly 90 posts in my Google Reader right now, as I have been away from my computer for most of the day yesterday, and all day today....and unfortunately all day tomorrow. eeekkkk...so do me a favor and don't post anything else for a few days. wink wink...

Friday Freestyle

Well folks....It's FRIDAY! whew.....I made it. As some of you know, it was a "wait and see" week for me. Here's an update. On day four of the rash, it started to slowly disappear. It is day six now, and it appears to be nearly gone. It's cause will remain a mystery. I suppose I am okay with that. Let's just hope it never comes back. I really appreciated all your heartfelt comments. It really meant a lot. Thank you! Sugar is on the mend, and I am sure she is plotting her next stunt to get mama all worked up and nervous. I think she likes that. wink wink....

~The lovely Katie, at Bugs on a Blog, tagged me this week with the 6 facts or habits MEME. :) So I am going to try to come up with 6 things you might not know about me. It is always harder than it looks. Here we go:

1. I love books. I used to actually read books...like at least one book a week. I was a regular at the Library. I would lay in bed and read each night. I would read for hours on the weekends. Then I started getting too many magazine subscriptions thanks to eBay. By the time I got through all my magazines, more would come, and I didn't have much time for books. Then I got the nasty Internet habit, and my free time got sucked away in the evenings, and the weekends. The truth is...I miss books. I need to get back in the habit of reading books. I love to read a variety of books...sci-fi, non-fiction, mysteries, horror, and so on. As long as it is NOT a romance I'll read it. or at least I used too....sigh.

2. I NEED at least 3 blankets on me to feel like I sleep well. I think it is the weight of the coverings that I crave. I just can't sleep if the blanket is too light. The best sleep of my life was in college, when I had to sleep on a sleeping porch with 60 other girls. We had the window open and an exhaust fan going for circulation of air. It was cold, cold, cold in the winter, so I slept in flannel PJ's, a hooded sweatshirt with the hood up, flannel sheets, a comforter and two afghans. I'm telling you...it was the BEST.SLEEP.EVER!

3. My great grandmother made me a three toned pink ripple afghan in 1985. It became my blankie of choice. Besides sleeping with it every night at home, I also took it to all sleepover, off to college, and in to my married home. Here we are 23 years later, and I still use it every night. WOW! Who would have thought Red Heart Yarn could hold up so well?

4. I have always loved music. I wanted so badly to learn to play the piano. I took lessons on and off for a few years when I was about 8 years old. I just could not get a hang of it. I wasn't enjoying it like I thought I would, so I gave up. In fifth grade, I took on the Saxophone and LOVED IT! I played it for four years, then too many high school activities got in the way and I had to quit. I wish I hadn't because I haven't touched a saxophone in over 15 years, and I have since forgotten everything I learned. I am currently instrument ignorant, and that is sad. Oh...wait....I can totally rock the Kazoo.

5. As a child, I loved to swing. It had to be one of my very favorite past times. I remember swinging as high as I could, and feeling the wind on my face. I could swing the entire recess away. It saddens me to admit that I get motion sickness when I swing for longer than a minute these days. How can this be? What has changed? Why does it make me so sick now? I can't even do two rounds of "ring around the rosey" either......Sugar Bear is NOT impressed with mama's weak tummy.

6. I have the worst handwriting of all the women I know. It is seriously the ugliest, most nasty handwriting there is. It has embarrassed me for as long as I can remember. It is only getting worse with my lack of using it. I type nearly everything these days, and the other day, it took me three tries to write a legible check to repay a friend. Seriously, I am the QUEEN of "You Don't Use It....You'll Lose It" land.

Wow....that is always so much more work than I think it will be, so I chose not to tag anyone. If you are reading this and want to give it a try please do. :)

~Lastly, I just want to announce that I tend to post my Saturday Photo Hunters early in the day on Friday. Yes, I know it seems strange, but the Photo Hunt has participants from all around the world, and they have Saturday well be I do, so if I want them to view my entry, I need to have it up on Friday. Now I know I didn't NEED to explain this...but I didn't want anyone to think, I can't keep track of what day it is. wink wink...I may be losing it...but it isn't gone yet!

Goodbye Four For Friday....

Hello Friday Freestyle!

Yes...it is true...I am switching it up. I was starting to get stressed out by the Four For Friday...I would sit here painfully trying to come up with something to write, and that is definitely NOT the purpose of blogging for me. I want to write about what moves me at the time, so....it just has to go. I am replacing it with the new Friday Freestyle. It will be a hodge podge of whatever suits me at the time. Often it will be the day I wrap up bloggity business, pass on awards, share a funny, or whatever floats my boat. Sound good? I hope so.

Today, I want to start with sharing just how horribly spoiled I am becoming....If we aren't careful...I'll soon be so bling heavy, I fall off the Internet. tee hee...can a person have too many good friends? I personally don't think so.
