I ♥ Faces~ Let's Hear It for the BOYS!

This week over at, I ♥ Faces, they are celebrating the BOYS.

For the Child's Category, I'm sharing a photo I took for a friend's newborn boy back in 2007. Sigh....I rarely get the opportunity to capture newborns....and almost just as rarely do I get to photograph boys. I was so honored to photograph such a precious time for my friend.

For the Adult Category, I'm choosing a photo from a session I did with one of my friend's son. He was a willing subject, and we had GREAT things in mind, but time, weather, and illness kept us from accomplishing our pre-conceived plan. This is one of my favorite close-ups of the day though. he has VERY expressive eyebrows. I look forward to another day of shooting with him sometime soon.

Photostory Friday~ From Water Project to Life Lesson

Continuing with my quest to pull myself out of a photography funk, I did a little playing with water and flowers the other day. While I didn't actually get THE photo I was looking for, I had a blast, and learned more about myself, and photography. I do a really good job of remembering it is the PROCESS and not the PRODUCT when I'm dealing with my child, but often fall short of this when working on something myself. I want so badly to just nail it from the get go, and struggle with frustration issues. I need to let the product go...and enjoy the process more.......EVERY.SINGLE.TIME.

I truly feel that I will lose sight of the great blessing photography has brought to my life, if I can not achieve the sense of peace with the process. It is time to do a little more work on Corey.

Tell Me Thursday~ Nosey Little Frog

I was pretty excited to post my Wordless Wednesday photos yesterday. If you haven't seen them....please check them out. I'll wait.....

You back? Is there a smile on your face? I mean how can you NOT be smiling after seeing that last shot? Seriously?????

I'd love to tell you that the tiny little frog jumped right off of Sugar's finger and landed on her nose like that.......but would you hate me too much if I admited I asked her to put him on her nose????? would you?????

Yeah, I know....it's a bit disappointing, but seriously, ya'll...I have never laughed so hard while taking photos in my life. I am SHOCKED that anything is in focus. As I peered through the view finder of my camera, I spied that little green frog on my daughter's nose, and those big blue eyes crossed trying to look at him. I could hardly stand it. It was completely, and totally hysterical. Gosh I love this kid. She was more than willing to try to set him on her nose when I wondered aloud, "Sugar....do you think he might sit on your nose? Would he be happy there?" Before I could bat an eye that little frog was perched on her nose, and the giggling began.

Here's my second favorite from the moment. Sigh......I just love this kid!
