It's a little Scrappy Bee

I'm thrilled to announce that Jessica, from Happy Together will soon have a fun pattern available for all. Previously, I have had the honor of making Jessica's Octopus pattern, and the Modern-tie shirt, TWICE. I was beyond thrilled when Jessica contacted me again with something to test sew. Sadly, I took forever to get it done. Life just got in the way, this time. Luckily, she was patient with me, and I'm forever grateful. The Scrappy Bee, is a seriously fun project. You get to take bits and pieces of leftover stuff, and put it all together to make a super cuddly little stuffed animal for a little person (or big person) you know and love.

You might recognize the fabrics I used from several other projects I have completed. I am a VERY thrifty person, so it thrills me to use up all the odds and ends I have tucked here and there in my house.

This little bee is a HIT with The Sugar. She hasn't named her yet, but I'm sure that is coming soon. These photos truly prove that:

She wants some more of it! (tee hee)





Not only is this stuffy fun to cuddle, it is full of adventure. Flap the wings.

Make her soar.

Then back to the good stuff....the hugs. ♥

It really melts my heart to see my girl get so much joy out of something I made for her. She is always eager to take it to pre-school, and show her friends what "her mama made!"

Sugar Bear definitely gives this pattern a THUMBS UP! She only has one suggestion, "it needs a stinger!" tee hee

Kitty Can't Think of an Interesting Title for the Week.

(Isn't it funny how no electricity can sometimes turn a normal evening into a candle lit adventure?)

(Seriously, Kitty.....it really isn't THAT bad being at work all day, now is it? Quit being so dramatic!)

(We walked into the hotel room, and suddenly felt grateful for all the rain storms we'd just traveled through. The sheer curtain softened the rain dotted window, and highlighted the rainbow. It was stunning.)

(I know,Kitty...it was a LONG,LONG drive home from our training. Now stop hiding and get out of the truck, so we can go in the house and get some sleep.)

(Kitty just tries to fit in....but obviously.....more practice is needed.)

Team-Up Thursday~ Negative Space

This week, I had BIG ideas, and chose the theme of "Negative Space." I was really excited to jump into this theme, and take tons of shots to choose from. INSTEAD, it rained...and rained....and rained...and I rarely even thought about the theme. If it weren't for my Kitty Project, I don't think I would have picked up my camera once this week. It was just that sort of week.

The other night, I began to panic. I ran outside, and found a dandelion. Our grass was soaking wet, so there was no lying down to get a fun angle. I simply had to shoot from the top down. (of course I could have picked it, but I wanted to true to it's environment. This shot isn't what I wanted for the theme, but I rather like the softness of it.

Berta's shot....well, it is amazing. That YELLOW! WOW! What is that? I am stumped, unless it happens to be some sort of funky algae. I have never in my life seen such a thing. I can't wait to go over to Berta's site and see what she has to say about it. You should too.
