Random Holiday Thoughts

-My favorite holiday movie is "Elf". I saw it in the theater with a wonderful friend, and it just brings a warm, happy feeling to my soul.

-I adore Christmas music. I could probably listen to it year round, but I haven't tried it, so who knows.

-While I usually love to put up the Christmas tree, this year I'd just love to snap my fingers and have it done for me. I purchased it, but it is still outside waiting for the Christmas love.

-I used to make like 10 different types of Christmas cookies, but the last few years, I'm lucky to get one done.

-Cookies are one of my very favorite foods in the whole world.

-For the past three years, I've been wrapping up 25 Christmas/Winter books and putting them under a tree in Sugar's room. Each night she gets to pick one and open it. Sometimes it's a new book, and sometimes it's an old favorite. The one she opens is the one we read that night before bed. ♥

-Whoever invented outdoor Christmas light timers should get a huge kiss because there is nothing I like better after a long day at work than coming home to see our house all lit up with Christmas cheer.

-For the past 3 years, Sugar Bear has told santa that she wants a puzzle for Christmas. I love that she gets so shy that she can't think of anything else to say.

-I get really irritated this time of year with all the commercialism, and materialistic tendencies. I strive to be more simple each year.

-I love that I get Christmas Vacation off from work. What a wonderful present each year.

-I can't believe I haven't gotten my indoor decorations up yet. I usually have this done right after Thanksgiving.

-I wanted to physically choke each and every adult that insisted on talking during my child's Christmas concert as school last week. I have never been more disappointed in the behavior of fellow parents in my life.

-Last year was the first time I ever made a gingerbread house. Sugar and I can't wait to do one this year.

-I love the candle scents that come out for this time of year. So great to light a yummy candle to smell up your house all pretty.

-The Winter Candy Apple soap from Bath and Body works is so delightful. I sometimes wash my hands just for the fun of it, lately. :)

-I should be addressing Christmas cards RIGHT NOW!

better go!

My Week 9

myweekdiptych10web

The first shot was taken on November 28th. At the risk of seriously annoying my friend (you know who you are), I'm gonna say it ONE MORE TIME! The movie TANGLED is the BEST movie ever. I would totally marry it if I weren't already spoken for. You HAVE to go see it....in 3D! HAVE TO!!!!!!!!!

The second shot was taken on November 29th. Yes....food again. I know, I know...but this was a new recipe....and it was a winner. You are looking at a really easy crab tart type thingy. Yes, that is the official name, and it was like little pieces of heaven. ♥

The third shot was taken on November 30th, and I'm pretty sure no one could ever guess what this is. I spent the ENTIRE day with my bum bum glued to my office chair and THIS is a photo of my bum print on my chair. yes......I did take a picture of THAT.

The fourth shot was taken on December 1st. This was a wonderful day. I took a nice break from my job, and took some more photos for a local physical therapy place. It was such an honor to be trusted with this responsibility.

The fifth shot was taken on December 2nd, and I did nothing of interest all day long, but grabbed this quick shot as I delivered some Pamper Chef products to a friend. She was a dear and ordered some stuff from my recent catalog show.

The sixth shot was taken on December 3rd, and this marks the day that I finally renewed my drivers license. I'm been driving around on a temporary license since September, and successfully put off actually getting the read deal taken care of for nearly the entire 3 months the temporary would last. I am the BEST procrastinator EVER!

The seventh shot was taken on December 4th. This marked the day that the Christmas season official begins to feel real for the Sugar and I. We spent our afternoon at the local Christmas Opry show, and LOVED.EVER.MINUTE.OF.IT! The singing.....the dancing.....and the comedy. Good times.

My Week 8

It was one heck of an interesting week, too!

myweekdiptych9web

The first shot was taken on November 21st, and boy rain can be beautiful. At this point it had been days and days of rain, and I was needing to find a way to embrace it, so I ran outside for some macro shots. That always does the trick.

The second shot was taken on November 22nd. This was a day to remember. As you can see, Sugar Bear's permanent tooth came in behind her baby tooth, and that darn baby tooth was refusing to budge, so I took her in to the dentist to have it removed. Sugar Bear was soooooooo brave, and the tooth fairy finally got to stop at our house that night.

The third shot was taken on November 23rd. We had a fabulous surprise when we woke up. SNOW! oh the beautiful snow! I had a blast taking pictures that day. Can't wait to edit them and share.

The fourth shot was taken on November 24th. We stayed home a few hours in the morning to grab some Christmas card shots in the snow before it melted. We had tons of fun. ♥

The fifth shot was taken on November 25th, which was Thanksgiving. We spent the day at The Hubby's parents house, and had some good times with the cousins. It was great for Sugar Bear to bond more with her cousin. She doesn't see them often enough.

The sixth shot was taken on November 26th. I actually spent the day at the computer trying to organize my digital files, and make more room on the hard drive. I forgot to take a picture until dinner time. I made ham and some easy lipton noodles. The are so not good for you...but I love them.

The seventh shot was taken on November 27th. I love love love the "holly" station on my XM radio in my truck. I always look forward to Thanksgiving weekend, so I can start listening to Christmas music. ♥

So there you have it.....another week in the life of Corey. I'm enjoying this project, even though I often forget to take a photo until evening time, which is my least favorite time of day to photography anything. There is something about seeing my pictures of the week all put together like this that makes me realize how lucky I am. Life is beautiful, isn't it?
