First and Last

Watch out.....Corey's been emotional. Yup....it's true. It's been a bit of an emotional week. I'm a loser when it comes to anything remotely sad. It will grab me by the throat and squeeze silly tears out of my baby blues. It can be so embarrassing.

Can't say I'm alone in this though. Seeing your baby finish up their Kindergarten year can affect many a parent with the same misty-eyed affliction. However, it really wasn't the fact that my Sugar Bear was moving to a new grade that really got me. It was the fact that this particular school would not be seeing another set of Kindergartners. After 55 years of service it is closing it's doors. This......just gets me. :( You should have seen me blubbering at the end of the day when the 4th grader's all got a chance to ring the old school bell out in front of the school. Yeah.....it was touching.

It may have taken Sugar Bear nearly 7 months to grow accustom to this school, but she really is sad to see it go. Thinking back on her first day of Kindergarten will always remind me of all the wonderful people I met this year.

I have much sadness for loss of this school. Many families have seen their children walk up these steps each morning. I, for one, will miss this sight.

And Sugar's teacher....she was so good to us. I feel blessed that we were among the last to have THIS teacher at THIS school. Good memories, for sure. Looking at these pictures has been interesting. I don't know about you....but I don't see a ton of physical growth from the first and last day of school, but oh my.....my girl has grown. It has been such a treat to watch her first elementary school experience.

What do you think....do you see much difference in the first and last pictures? My baby may be growing up....but not too quickly, and I like that.

woo hoo.....SCHOOL'S OUT FOR SUMMER!!!!!! ♥

Oh that brought a tear to my eye. We are such sappy mommas aren't we?! Bug was looking at the pictures and said, look at how much taller she is in the last picture than the first. I was only looking at her face and it hasn't changed but yep she sure has grown a bit taller! :) I sure hope you both enjoy your Summer vacation and that Sugar loves her new school in the fall.

Oh, I can so relate. I am so emotional about everything too. You are so good to have pictures to be able to compare. I never think about doing these things. I think Sugar Bear looks taller in the June photos. It's amazing how much they grow over the school year.

I think her face looks thinner and less "babyish". Also, I love the no-bangs look! It suits her!

Endings are always hard but at least you get to look forward to a new beginning! :)

She's cute as ever! I don't see a huge difference in the then/now picture but you can see that she has a little bit of an 'older' look to her than she did at the beginning of the school year!

Aww, what a difference :) I am so happy that school is finally out too! I have been counting down the days for months :)

Great Ideas!
She looks a little more grown up, and love the no bangs on her.
I love your captures and what a legacy you are leaving for her.
