Ummmm.....Who the heck is "Sugar Bear?"

To know me....is to know that I am a worrier....and more than a tad paranoid at times. It's all good....I embrace my freakism, and I am not afraid to talk about it. When I started this here fancy pants blog, I wasn't sure what I was going to be doing with it, and I was fairly certain no one would be reading it. Well....not actually "no one", but no one I didn't already know. I figured some of my family and friends would come by now and again to get a few laughs at "The Corey", but I didn't worry too much about my autonomy.

However, as I have progressed on this blogging journey, I really started to put myself out their in the blogging community. I have had lingering fears about being so transparent. It is one thing to make that choice for myself. It is entirely another thing to make that choice for my daughter. Slowly, I started making my blog more and more vague about my physical location. I made little changes here and there and felt the fear subsiding.

It wasn't until I happened upon this fun little adventure that I sat staring at my monitor with my fingers hovering over the keys thinking, "what if the fabulous Cami Kaos is really Chester Molester, and has been plotting and planning a clever way to talk my address out of me?" that really got me thinking. Even though I had commented and told her I would be emailing her my address, I had to embarrassingly back out. Cami was a real trooper, and understood my fear. She graciously wrote me a postcard, scanned it and sent it to me via email. THANK YOU, Cami!

In the past two weeks, I have ventured into a few new corners of the blogosphere, and it really got me feeling itchy...itchy to protect my little muffin's identity. At least take a step towards a more anonymous identity. Thus.....Sugar Bear was born. I just spent the last 2.5 hours going through my 80+ posts and switching out her real name for her nickname. I figured I better do it now before the task was overwhelmingly enormous.

So for my faithful readers, please don't be alarmed. I do not have a new little pet, that I have forgotten to mention. Sugar Bear is just my sweet darling girl. The very same girl you all know and love. She is now just a little more mysterious. Who doesn't love a little mystery?

Hi Corey - I know what you mean... I've been mulling over the same topic. Thanks for the sweet comment at my place!

Corey - I am right there with you! I have never posted my children's names. Nicknames are just as good.

Thanks for stopping in at Raising a Healthy Family! Come stop by one of my other sites Printables4Kids for some fun activities for your little one.

I've been thinking about doing this with my blog, too. You may be the incentive to push me to finally do it. :D

Hooray for the pseudonym. That is why K has always been K on my blog.

It's a cute name too.

I am contemplating changing my daughter's name on my blog too -- I googled her name and my blog was 3rd on the list!! UGH!

I need to take the time to go and change her name - thanks for the motivation! :)
